Not sure which to buy ,like the Evo`s colours better as 500 `s colour keep deleting ones i like ,i wish they had a nice metallic blue one!
My previous 500 1.3mjet was great overall ,the price rises are very high from when i bought mine just 2yrs ago.
I wonder if the new 95 bhp 1.3mjet engine is a huge leap foward in refinement/technology over my previous 75bhp.,Apart from the stop/start which seems to be hit and miss with a lot of people not just on Fiats.
The Evo is approx between 0.5%-2% on hp to buy but the 500 is 9.5% on hp ??? Oh and Scrogg any new 500 colours out soon thanks.:)

If you need the space, perhaps greater practicality abetter ride and overall drive then the Evo makes sense, but a diesel.

If not I would stick with a 500. It makes a far sounder long term purchase in terms of residuals.

The reason the finance is cheap and attractive is that they are struggling to shift Evos so they need to sweeten the long term financial pain - purchase and residuals.

If we could manage with just the 500, we would and I would say goodbye to my Grande.

Te finance is cheap on the EVo as they are struggling to shift them

There is a new pastel blue colour called Azzurro Volare coming later this year when the TwinAir model launches. It's currently available on all 500 models in Italy and Germany - markets with twinAir...I believe it has replaced the rather nice Cha Cha Cha Azure but I think it looks great!

Fiat needs to produce more retro/bright colours like this for the 500/Panda models. Currently a very limited range...i mean 3 shades of greys?? C'mon Fiat what happened to YeYe Green, Guacamole Green, Cocktail Blue?? And a nice metallic Rosso Scilla red?

Yes i agree, but will be buying shortly Fiat were always best when it comes to colours but are now going the way of others with greys taken prime status and no offence to people that have these colours .

In this double dip as they say recession ,looking for money saving mpg tax etc, would love the Abarth but could not afford to run it etc thanks anyway.:)

Fiat sales have fallen more than any other European make in the past few months - Europe-wide I mean. There are many reasons for this, but their one truly popular model, the 500, is about to be refreshed with some (one?) delightful new colours, and a revolutionary new engine. Then, Fiat had better get some truly new and competitive new cars introduced, fast, and improve their truly crap warranty. Next year sees the new Panda, another huge player for Fiat, but beyond that there doesn't look like much coming. The Bravo is OK, but very flawed, and the new Multipla etc., based on Chrysler underpinnings, is hardly likely to generate huge sales in a collapsing European market. Next year will be economically crap for all of Europe by the way, and only economical cars - and supercars - will be of any real interest to anybody with any money left. The Twinair will help, but...

Sorry to be pessimistic, but remember what I said this time next year ;)

Which is exactly why with my driving 30 miles round trip working and frequent trips out of town the new diesel looks good with 72mpg approx combined and low road tax its in both the Evo eleganza and the 500 1.3 95bhp multijet series 2 engine ,i know the euro is closing in on the pound but for the same spec as my last 500 its around 3k more in just 2 years almost to the day 1500 pounds a year this is why Fiat are struggling imho.

So why keep changing cars every five minutes then?

But anyway, probably £1,500 of that is inflation and the remainder because the 500 was underpriced initially, as evidenced by a full order book.

Look on the bright side, inflation devalues our mortgages, but the flipside of that is that mortgage rates of 10% could be a reality in the forseeable future too

Due to change in circumstances kids lol ended up with a citroen picasso diesel but now my partner is nearly on to her test ,she will be running a small seicento :) and i can keep a new car for 5 yrs instead of 2 (y)

I miss my 500`s mpg high 60`s the picasso averages about 44 mpg
i have also seen a few panda 1.3 multijet dynamics only 1 yr old going for under 6.5k:eek: might be tempted like James May lol.:D

For a moment there I was really confused on the two cars you were comparing, until I realised you meant Punto Evo not Mitsubishi... very different running costs! ;-)

Having been on the continent for the last week and a half and seeing tonnes of Guac green Panda's in Turin and in France I have to agree, it's a good colour :)

Personally i'd get an Evo. 500s are getting abit too Mini-like for my liking, ie people buy them as a fashion accessory rather than because of a love of the car. Plus the 500s less practical/flexible. Plus it has a truly hopeless selection of colours, as everyone keeps saying. The Evo is abit better in that respect, though still not great, but least you get Acid Jazz Blue, Flamenco Red etc.

All the 500s i see on the roads are white. I reckon it'll be interesting trying to sell them on in a few years time as there literally seems to be 5 white ones to every other colour i see. A few red, black and yellow ones and the odd Cha Cha Cha Azure. Saw a Rock n Roll Blue one last night tho, which made me smile. When will Fiat sort it out, it lets the car down. Almost like the old saying 'you can have any colour as long as it's.....' in this case WHITE, or various shades of grey. How lovely. I'll take a Twingo instead thanks!

Go for an Evo, you'll probably be able to get a decent amount off list price too, unlike on the 500. Which will offset the likely heavy depreciation.

Maybe Fiat should just rotate the free colour i.e six months black then blue etc.
One of the reasons I sold my 500 was that 9 out of 10 were white, but then that was my fault and no one else's. I was going to choose yellow but chickened out.
Have you looked at a Twingo close up(n)

Yes not keen on the Twingo(n),i would`nt get white again either ,a nightmare to keep clean esp the backend lol:)Maybe Red car this time or a nice blue one if they bring one to the table:confused:
