I'm just wondering Im looking at buying a fiat 500 (unregistered) car and I can see the chassis number but the engine has been taken out for sometime now and the previous owner doesn't know where the original block is. Is there any way I can find the matching engine number with the chassis number from the car?

Thank you.

Hello Mizcca,

If I recall, there is no matching engine number, there is only the correct motor type. So in a 500F, it would be motor: 110F.000

So you just need to find a motor that is the right spec as what's listed on your identification placard.

Hope that helps!

A very many of the cars have had the engine changed.

It will not have a huge impact on the value - unless you are planning a concours - show winner

Original crankcases are available to buy - but its a common acceptance that a 650 engine with 3 syncro gearbox is a more usable unit
