Yeah - hard work done and hundreds of bits missing
Been there and lost my shirt

I think it's a TR5 Chris?

Yeah, you're right.

I thought for a moment that it might have been one of the late 50s - early 60s Touring bodied Spiders pictured here next to lesser machinery :p

Actually thinking about it could be a TR4 or 5 but the 5 was pretty rare with the 2.5 PI lump in it that was later fitted to the TR6. That is the ultimate Triumph with a nice squirty rear wheel drive back end. Not for the faint hearted with all that straight six torque! Not many built and they go for approx £40k but Italian designed to get back to the Fiat forum and Italy.

I must add I have never owned an Alfa but they have made some beautiful cars over the years. Even some of their moderns are really nicely styled cars.

Perfect little project for someone who doesn't want any welding to do. Maybe get the price down a bit, could be a tidy profit in it if you are looking to sell it on. Comes with a risk I suppose regarding the standard of the welding without seeing it in the flesh!

Peter get your compressor and spray gun out!!!! :D

Mmmmm not so sure, especially as that's what I paid for my 500. Ok I had to pay for PRA and shipping on top so add another £730, but if you are going to buy a LHD project car, I still think it makes more sense to source your own from Italy. :)

Did you decide what to do with your 2nd one Peter, or did you postpone the decision while you work on the camper?

cheers, Steve
I decided that I dearly want another 500 to "mess" with and I have since seen some restorations which are from a similar starting point. So i am going to invest in all the floor, sill and jack reinforcement panels (about £200) and simultaneous with starting on the camper I am going to weld those in to restore the rigidity and allow me to move the shell without worrying about distortion.

But then it will have to go on the back-burner as the camper is slightly worse than I expected....and I expected really bad.:)
