Does anyone know whether the transmission shield which fits behind the flywheel is secured by anything or is it just sandwhiched by the gearbox when fitted? Problem i have is someone else stripped engine down and hasn't been careful about part/ bolts etc. argggggghhhhhhh nightmare! Getting to the stage now when I wish. Hadn't bought this car! However not far off getting her back on the road.

From memory there are two small bolts that hold it in place against the block while you don't have the gearbox fitted. With the gearbox fitted there are another 3(?) that stop it flapping and vibrating by bolting it to the edge of the bellhousing.
