General X 1/9 front brake caliper questions.

My 1964 Fiat 600 / Fiat Abarth 850TC vintage racer has X 1/9 front calipers. I see there were early and late calipers, with different piston sizes. Are the calipers and rotors interchangeable, or do you have to have early rotors for early calipers, etc, and are the early and late calipers interchangeable regarding mounting points, brake lines, and hardware?
