Yes just when it's warm heat coming even my wife feels funny . I can't smell antifreeze in car but ther a strange smell which other people who come in the car can smell . Could be the fumes [emoji87]warm only, does it have a musty acrid smell, could be a slight leak in the matrix? are you losing coolant?
By the way what is a matrixwarm only, does it have a musty acrid smell, could be a slight leak in the matrix? are you losing coolant?
Thanks for your replay I might get 2 gas masks that might solve this problem . If it doesn't I might just get a donkey at least am breathing freshair[emoji206]While this is most likely a coolant leak it could be carbon monoxide (CO)poisoning from exhaust fumes which can be fatal. You need to make sure it's not this. If you or your wife look pink or flushed when in the car, this is a sign of serious CO poisoning, get out into fresh air and seek medical attention. You can get CO detectors either one-time chemical or electronic. The chemical ones are typically a card wit a spot that darkens. Not so common these days but can be found in Camping / Caravaning stores or boating suppliers. Electronic ones are similar to smoke detectors and are sold in hardware / DIY stores and some supermarkets.
If it is CO it could be coming from a leaking exhaust, bad rear door seals leaking heater duct or a combination of these.

Yes I will have a look . I presume you have a marea to[emoji593]the cabin heater is a small radiator, also called a matrix. On left hand drive cars it's easily accessible from the glovebox if you want to check for dampness.

Thanks I will look in it it does seem serious . I might even get rid of it and have a newer car[emoji30]A "gas mask" (filtered respirator) will not work for CO. There is no effective sorbent. One might remove the smell, but it won't remove CO (which has no smell) For protection you would need a mask supplied from a clean air supply. Antifreeze fumes aren't good for you either but don't have the low level acute toxicity of CO.
