My X was in someone's repair shop while i was moved to a different state. They tried repairing a few things, but gave up... so now I get to reassemble. Anyone know where this belongs?

I'm nowhere near my X at the moment, and I haven't looked at it in months, but it looks like the bracket that holds on the top of the coolant bottle to me. I'll have a look and see if I can find a photo or two.

I'm open to being wrong though, if anyone has any other ideas.

I don't recognise it either - possibly because it is unique to the federal spec cars.

The coolant reservoir fittings I am familiar with are all integral with the tank but that doesn't mean I've seen everything.

The notch at the narrow end looks like it holds a cable though - that narrows it down a lot. It is either hand brake or throttle (or if the car is older the choke cable).

This is the mounting bracket for the accelerator cable that sits on top of the camshaft housing. Fitted to the cam box lid with with two 13mm bolts.

darn - I don't remember my throttle bracket looking like that!

Then again it has been a good many (10 +) years since I had a standard X1/9
