Technical Where do you set the VVT pulley

Hi, asking a direct question,

studying the vvt Pulley, not much to go wrong or wear,

when refitting, what position should it be installed,
halfway between "stops" or extreme (allows movement each way)
anti-clockwise extreme (so can only turn clockwise) only advance i think
or clockwise extreme (Only turn anticlockwise) would only retard depending on rotation of the cam
