Hello all!

Im in a bit of a bind :chin:.......................I currently have a 1990 H-REG MK2 Uno Turbo in met grey (Completly standard.......exhaust blow and rust :D)

Pretty quick and still a very usable car (easily does 5-up and dump runs.....(y))

But im considering a change as i have a another black MK2 Uno Turbo as my project car  (300+ HP/TRQ 1372cc arent cheap! lol)

But also consider re-shelling my current Uno Turbo

All these cars are easliy to insure by myself and i can fix anything on them all so running costs arent an issue

If you're going to re-shell your UT then do it now otherwise all the clean shells will dry up! Mk1 3 door base models are already going for silly money so it can't be long until the mk2's follow suit.

BTW, a Punto GT will feel slow after your UT. Same basic engine but more weight.

If you've got the money (and can afford the high running costs) then the Delta is the one to go for. Otherwise re-shell the UT for the best value performance per £pound (y)

Forgot to say that it will be an everyday car!

My uno has been faultless over the last 6 months :D

But i know of a 8-9 years dry stored Integrale

if i wanted an escort, it wouldnt be a Mk3...........Cossie Turbo Mk1 baby!!
But the are a completly new venture in themselves!

Come to think of it, id search high and low for a Fiat 131 :yum:.........and **** on Mk1 escorts :slayer:

I am considering a Mk1 Uno turbo too now........
Rosso-Red on dimond faced Mk1 wheels :yum:

hmmmmmm judging by what i've heard about the reliability of the delta engines it wouldn't be wise to use it as a regular driver. i dunno actually about the delta, but the alfa 155 Q4 (same 4WD and engine) is known to be extremely high maintenance and low reliability. tipo sedici' engines are prone to a manner of different problems. maybe lancia have done it properly and this wouldn't be a problem?
though if you had something else you'd probably regret not getting one when you could. Go for it(y)

If you want everyday practicality, go for something cheap and sensible then plough your money into your project UT. Alternatively just buy a cheap £200 runaround with MOT, drive until it will go no more, then buy another and so on. The trouble I found with running more than 1 old car is that you spend your whole time maintaining one old banger and haven't got time to work on the other, there's always something that needs doing.
