I matched my old springs - by manufacturer with others, from 1.8 and 1.6 and they are same, so i think there is no difference between diesels and petrols springs

there definately is a difference.

the 1.2, 1.4, 1.6 & 1.8 use the same springs.

the 2.0 and 1.9 use the same springs (with stiffer front springs)

look at the model numbers on this website for confirmation, the springs you need are 4526101, the ones for a 1.8 or 1.6 are 4526100.

if they were not different they would not have differnt part numbers.

Its funny really i've heard the same like Jug said the 1.2 - 1.8 share the same springs and the TD and 2.0 are the same. Mostly from places that sell suspension kits etc. But when i check the Fiat Eper, the TD and 2.0 have different part numbers aswell as the 1.2 compared with a 1.6 or 1.8. All bravo's have different part numbers for there front springs. Wierd. Also theres different springs for cars with aircon, theres also another number for those with ABS. Is there a difference, i dont know but Fiats part catalogue shows different part numbers for each.

But if it was the same then why introduce different part numbers. I guess its all down to being a FIAT. :)

that is strange, why have different part numbers for identicle parts? i doubt they could really have so many different springs, the costs for that much variation would be huge when making cars.

oh that makes sense then :D

I was speaking to a breakers who specialises in breaking the Coupe's. Apparently for both N/A and turbo variants there is a difference to the springs when the cars have aircon. So this will most likely be true on the Bravo etc.
