Tipo 1.4 ie dgt-1989g-ELECTRIC(ELECTRONIC) PROBLEMS-look this for yourself-and help!:
I am from CROATIA (Hrvatska) so please sorry for my bad english ,I would be happy if ther could be somneon for my promblems
from Croatia.
My Tipo (my dad's) is from 1989. and we have it for about 6 years .
It is model 1.4 dgt ie (benzine/petrol).
1.The first problem that we had was with electric
few months after buying in (2002/03),so the problem was in that the car in drive without
any reason started to shutdown the engine
(I repeate in driving,at high speed's, that was scary, imagine if you try to speed up
and another car comes from the other side and your car turns off!!! )
Nobody of mechanic and electrician in our smnall town could not
detect the real problem that appears occasional,all diagnostics
were in wrong ways the solution was in repleacing bad ''CAMSHAFT SENSOR CABLE''
(also called Crank Angle Sensor (CAS) or sometimes Crankshaft Position Sensor (CPS) )
the price in Croatia was around 70 EURO .
*The crank angle sensor tells the ECU the position of the crankshaft so it can work out when to fire the plugs and injectors.
Its usually either an inductive or hall effect sensor located on the flywheel or on a pulley at the other end of the crankshaft.
2.Another problem that we could not solve was ;why in our Tipo in winter the heating
is so low and needed much much more time for warm up the car inside,
after all this years we detected the problem in mass air flow indicator (MAF SENSOR called).
Now the heating is great and wery fast!
I readed that MAF can make a problems of slow work car engine,and wery high consumption of fuel.
3.And at last of thes big problems is unsolved until thes days.
The problem start to appear and disappear on the digital dasfboard,
the digital numbers of sensors and indicators for kilometre (kmh) fuel, rpm ,temperature,clock...
nothing of this does not working .
Electrician could not solve the problem ,nor say is the problem in dashboard or in car ECU
or some wires or something other.
There are 3 buttons on left side of dash that are for:LIGHTING ,TRIP,TOTAL TRIP
and when you press the TRIP and TOTAL TRIP together the all indicators on the dash ar lighting for check,
now that doesnt working to.
I just want to know where can be the true reason,is that in ;
1.DASH
2.ECU (car computer)
3.wire
4.something other ???????????????????
So if enybody know what could be the problem ,please help !
Driving now is wery dangerous ,HELP with suggestion's ,in any way !!
