Do you know how I can get it?
I now have 2 radios for the car and neither any good. Fiat are telling me that I need the doner car details but surely that can't be right?
The fiat breakers in Oldham reckon they don't have the details and have never been asked for them before!
Any advice would be great fully received.
At the request of insurance companies, the various car related security codes are no longer supplied with the vehicle. Instead, they are held by a company called ISR (International Security Register). I believe that ISR will will only supply them to a dealer, and the dealers will only request them from ISR if you have the registration number and proof of ownership of the car. You could try ISR direct (phone number should be etched on the car's windows), explaining the situation, but I wouldn't hold out much hope.
Not sure, but perhaps a dealer can get the registration number from the car's VIN, if the seller of the radio is prepared to give you that.
As far as I know, it's not possible to calculate the code for this radio from its serial number. The only other way would be to try a car radio repair workshop. They may be able to get the code by reading an EPROM inside the radio. I don't know of any such workshops to suggest to you.
