General Stilo arbarth, semi auto -transmission - gearbox

Hello all,


I have a Stilo arbarth, semi auto, when changing gears yesterday the gear box has begun to make a “cluck” noise, it has done 75k and had regular services, at a guess I believe the transmission fluid needs toping up/replacing

Does anyone has any ideas on the cheapest way to do resolve the issue/ is it possible to do this myself or would it be best to take the car to a garage?

The selespeed has always made a noise when changing gears. Are you sure the noise you are hearing isn't normal operation ?

There is a dipstick on the back of the gearbox to check level if you are concerned. Unless there is an obvious leak you should be OK.
Advice given before is to invest in cable and multiecuscan software to check hydraulic pressure in the selespeed system.

Id invest. I've the same car, same mileage, same noise. Gearbox and engine just fell out onto the driveshaft!
