Technical sticky gear 3 n 4???

I got into car this morning, everything a ok however got back in it at 11pm n my gears started to stick n had a force them out. Only gear 3 n 4 n wen I say force I don't mean wrench I mean there was just bit of resistance.against gears. Any ideas

mk1, mk2 or mk2b

Assuming your int he right section its mk2/mk2b

how many miles been done?
And have you ever had a clutch done?
Ever done a Gearbox fluid change?

If you stick your head behind the gearbox when looking down
You'll see 2 ball joint and the gearbox linkages
give them a little WD40 to make sure its not just linkages sticking

Worse could be Syncro's as there on the same Gear selector and gear mesh

Mk2b mate. Will give it a go in morning, needs a gearbox flulid change really n will need a clutch in next 2000 I reackon

gear selector cable ..... sticking

no oil change

first ping off the rear selector (the lower one .... ) see if its stiff on in and out motion ...... ask some one to work gear lever 1 to 2 to 3 to 4

and watch movement ........ under bonnet ,,,,, then you can lube wd40 and light oil ......
