Technical Stereo wiring

Hi all,

My Uno project is coming on nicely and I just fitted a stereo. We’ll ignore the fact that the front speakers are the wrong way round and one of the rears that came with the car doesn’t work for now! And I have no idea how to connect the DAB!

I’m quite pleased I worked out the wiring using my multimeter as I’ve never installed a radio myself before. However, I was left with a spare orange wire. I can’t deduce from the wiring the diagram what this could be, although I suspect a signal to illuminate the stereo, which isn’t supported on mine anyway.

Now to source a fascia surround…

To close this off, I’m pretty sure the orange is wire off the Uno’s loom is to trigger backlighting. It receives 0.1v when the lights are on.

I’m having the time of my life with this car. Covered 300 miles in it this weekend!
