Hi,

I have a Burstner 685 motorhome with the Ducato chassis from 2005. I would like to change the standard steering wheel, which I'm sure has an air bag. I would like to fit a detachable steering wheel which doesn't have an air bag. Will I get a fault light if I change the steering wheel and how do I change the setting on the ECU to ignore it?

Thank you.

I notice in the owners manual it states air bag (where fitted). When I turn on the ignition, there is no air bag warning light to prove its working. Can I safely assume there is no air bag fitted?

On my 2006 x244 2.8JTD it says "Air Bag" on the steering wheel, below the Fiat emblem. On turning the ignition ON, the red airbag light illuminates briefly. This warning light is situated below the lower intersection of the tachometer and fuel gauge arcs. My vehicle is not fitted with a passenger air bag, instead there is a shelf above the glove box.
