does anyone know if u can buy a tool to knock out the service due light on the dash as i had the service done privately and it's doing my head in ?

Wrong. My indipendant mechanic reset mine with his diagnostic tool.
Mine did too.

I got rid of my Stilo 18months ago, you cant expect me to keep up with the times
He could delete the bloomin lot all in one go ..no need to worry then in the future..
Bloomin pint would freeze solid in this weather before he could drink it..nice hot cuppa would be more like it..
Yes, there are N number (I think 9) service points set in the system. After the n th service reset then no more warnings. There is nothing to stop n (9) service resets in succession to be done at the same time and thus stop all future warnings.
NOTE!!!!!!! Be very careful if you have a diesel engine fiatte wth a DPF filter!!!! Different rules apply and you could damage your engine!!!!!!
