Hi hope we are all ok.

I own a Punto mk2 1.2 8v active. I have had it from 83k now it's hit 120k I have changed oil filter twice and am about to change rocker cover.

What other things should I be changing at this milage?

When was the timing belt changed? At this mileage if you're keeping the car, I'd change the transmission oil along with all the usual checks, spark plugs, brakes, suspension, the list goes on. Get yourself a Haynes manual, it will not have all the answers, but a good starting/reference point.

Have you really done 37,000 miles and only changed oil filter twice?
Have you changed the oil more often?

Renew Oil filter , air filter , oil
Every 10,000 miles
spark plugs too, unless you use expensive long life spark plugs.

Sorry incorrect details I meant air filter I twice. Not done oil been kept saying going to. Am sorting out rocker in a week to see if oil leak is rocker or corroded sump. Once found out will either be oil service and filter or sump with oil filter. Suprised still running sweetly with such neglect.

people dont look oil level for years let alone change it

My advice?
Get some cheap oil and a decent oil with filter


Drop the old oil
Fill with new fresh oil and run for 30mins to allow it to flush through system
It will almost certianly come out black if its not been changed ina while
Im not 100% on these snake oil oil addatives to clean
Diesel oil will do that instead
Once youve flushed with cheap oil
Let it.drain fully and then slap new filter and fresh oil in

Cheers Ziggy have been keeping an eye on levels due to leak and been topping up when required. Will defo do what you suggested.
