Try tweeking the bolt. Changing the pump is a pain as it involves dropping the sump.

Cheers

We tried to tighten it but it wouldnt budge without what would be 'excessive' pressure.

Is there a gasket between the pump and block?

I know how much of a pain in the arse changing the pump will be lol, want to avoid that really.

Any other suggestions on what it could be, also worse case scenarios, maybe cracked crank casing?

in the last photo the bulge you see on the pump that ends at that bolt is the high pressure oil feed... so if the gasket between the block and pump is going to fail it will fail there.

What I would do before digging deeper is remove that bolt where the leak seems to be from.
degrease the whole area.
fill the bolt hole up with silicone before replacing the bolt (if your lucky the bolt with push it into any cracks in the gasket)
then also rub a bead of silicon around the edge of the pump where is meets the block in that area.

do this when you dont need the car for a while. give it at least a night to set.
