As linked query the keys have a code on each metal blade, in format "A123" - is this the key code required when getting new key cut ( as opposed to new extortionate remote)?

That code is the code to identify the type of blank required. It's nothing to do with the pattern in the key.

As no key code card was supplied (others say Fiat have stopped supplying them) where do I get the key code. ISR have been mentioned - do I need t phone them as web site is update only.?

Fiat or Isr. Fiat will be easier in person as both need proof you are the vehicles owner.
