Scudo(old version) spare key

I lost the remote key and all I have left is the spare. So I found a local key cutter to make up a spare. Strangest thing is the key works in the ignition, all the electrics come on, engine turns over, but it won't start. BUT, if I start with the Fiat spare key, engine starts as normal, take out the key, pop in the new cut one and the engine re-starts! Leave it all for 10 minutes, back to square one. There must be some code thing in the spare or what? Scudo 2005

Yep. Will be the immobiliser transponder.

Will need to probably go to Fiat to get a key cut that will work all the time. Won't be cheap though.

What ever you do, don't loose that spare, or you really will be up ****s creak, and it really will cost a small fortune!!!
