hi guys/girls i just got my new car a 2001 fiat seicento 1.1l michael schumacher edition in red. The car has a few faults but apart from that its very nice and i love it already.

The previous owner had a small crash and the rear quater pannel has a dent and the boot lid is dented (hopefully both can be easily sorted). The left had rear light is cracked and will need replacing for next m.o.t and the car is very messy and needs a good clean but for £250 with tax and m.o.t you cant complain.

I will get some pics up once cleaned tomorrow if the weather is nice and i will keep this space updated as i change things on the car which include :-

coilovers or lowering springs
new dash speakers
parts of bumper will be painted or covered in black.

Thanks for reading

After getting the car and giving it a clean and sorting out some wiring issues and adding a personal touch its finished atm until i start to install mods :)

piccky time

Please change those rear lights back to standard, I don't think my eyes can take it :yuck:

Other than that, looks good :)

sorry thats what the car come with and they do need replacing but i will either get clear or smoked not keen on standard rear lights

nice looking car, these look great just kept simple, standard and clean.
Where are the rear headrests for it?

ty and i dont know where they are i didnt get them with the car are the same on all models if so i will pick some up from somewhere

UPDATE:

i have now got round to doing some more work on the car ive painted the calipers and drums :) this weekend (christmas eve) im fitting my new rear brake shoes and hopefully fitting my sub if the box and wiring kit turns up.

i have also replaced the front speakers (were blown). i ran the car today for 20 mins or so and then i saw steam from the bonnet so i turned the engine off and lifted the hood to find that my coolant was boiling :( i have brought some new coolant and tomorrow will be checking the fan and thermostat and then refilling and bleeding the system. Hopefully it doesnt boil again. then in the new year its mot and tax time then to find some insurance (ANYONE KNOW OF ANY CHEAP COMPANY'S IM 22 AND HAD MY LICENCE 1 1/2 YRS BUT NO DRIVING EXPERIENCE)

If it is knackered and you want to sell it... id be interested in the shell for my engine conversion. As for a cheap insurance company, your best to go on the compare websites such as go compare, compare the market etc.... Dont expect it to be cheap tho, as the because its a sporting you will pay a high premium... no idea why, its not like these cars are super fast or eye candy to joy riders.... (could be to do with the safety rating lol)

Just to give you an idea. 19 year old on a standard SX first year with no experience and 0 no claims was £1800.

Second year with one years no claims and same car its still £1300.

I looked at getting a Schumacher and apart from not being able to find one that wasn't dodgy I could not insure it as they wanted nearly £3000 for it.

Michael

i tested the fan and the thermostat and there is no problems with them so i drained and flushed and refilled the coolant and problem fixed :) and my new brake shoes turned up today so i will be fitting them this weekend and hoprfully my sub and wiring kit turns up before xmas and i can fit them

Thats good!! any news on the insurance quote?

re the insurance - do you have any one in your family with a license (preferably clean with a few years ncb)? I've only just passed and im 26 - my other half is 25 with no points and 4 yrs ncb - and it drops my cheapes quote on my own from £1200 down to £623 with her on it as a named driver . . . . . might be the cheapest way to go about it till you get your ncb?

tried putting parents on but they havent driven in years and have no no-claims so it puts the prices up

Update: today i debaged the rear and i wired my headunit power to the elec windows switch and my sub and wiring kit turned up today so i fitted that :) sadly i ran into a power problem i lost power to my HU and my interor light so i spent hours checking the wiring and checking the fuses but then i read a post on here and i double checked the 15th fuse and it was blown so i replaced it and hey presto working head unit again so now i have to reconnect all my wiring again pics to follow tomorrow.

my subwoofer and amp fitted :) then the heavens opened up so i couldnt finish taking the tape off the rear which held on the rear badges

Big update:

I have Finnaly started work so now i will have the cash to get the sei on the road.
on wednesday i ordered my new hb cable and wheel cylinders and a new thermostat (as i think the old one is on its way out which is y my coolant boils after half and hr or so on tickover).

and i have also got a cheaper insurance quote of £1600 for my first year of driving and me as the only Driver.

i am looking to get on the road on the 11th feb :D

I am concidering modding the car if anyone has any sugesstions of things i can do.

Bear in mind that even a minor mod will either raise or could invalidate your insurance, that can include non standard wheels. I had a Mondeo Zetec-S that they tried not to pay out on as they were trying to tell me the wheels weren't correct for the car even though they were Ford ones. I actually had to get the original specifications to show the car came with 18's as standard.

Update: I am in the process of replacing my rear brakes i have 1 side completed and the other needs the spring putting in (have tried so many time and its a pain ) But sadly me rear solid brake lines are Smegged so i have brought a flairing kit (£40 from halfruads) and my mate is giving me some Copper Lines:).

i am also replacing the handbrake cable which i have the exhaust down and the heat shield and i have just to replace it and then i have to tackle the newst propblem my coolant has disaperared there was a leak but i can see where from so ive had to splash out on another bottle off coolant (even tho i brought some last month :( )

i can mod the the car on my insurace policy and the price wont increase providing the bhp doesnt
