Right i was popping out tonight so i fired up my Seicento and thought i'll go through this scangauge while it warms up.
I didnt bother with the fuel side of things as i've not set it up to that side yet (you have to tell it when the tanks full then empty then full again and it works all the rest out, but as my tank leaks theres only ever 2 gallon max in it at the moment).
The digital gauge side of it allows you to see any 2 of the following on screen at the same time Like this
So in the order i went through them these are the results.
16c WT - Water temperature.
0 mph - This does work once you set off.
1165 rpm - Rpm works as it should.
11 TPS - Throttle position sensor, yes the figure increased when i revved it.
0.03 TCO - Todays carbon dioxide
0.04 CO2 - Current carbon dioxide
--- DFC - Days fuel cost (no reading not set up yet)
--- TFC - Trip fuel cost (no reading not set up yet)
--- CPM - Cost per mile
13.9 VLT - Battery voltage
17c IA - Intake air temp (might be handy seeing which filter kits do suck hot air in)
--- FPR - Fuel pressure no reading (it does say most cars dont have this facilty)
7 IGN - Ignition timing (does change when you rev the engine)
15 LOD - Engine loading (does change when you rev the engine)
CLSD/OPEM LP - Fuel system loop status, (opens when revved)
5.5 MAP - Manifold pressure
MPG & GPH both not reading (as mentioned above)
So thats what it does (in addition to being a fuel computer giving mpg, cost per mile, fuel left etc) i've not gone through the manual in detail, i'm only really interested in the water temp.
Is it worth £80?
Well a temp gauge plus mount, plus hose connector and temp probe, throw in some wiring, antifreeze and a few hours of your time then this is a much easier option and the cost is about the same, so for me yes it is.
The other bits will come in handy now and then, being able to check your battery instantly is helpfull, and as i mentioned before finding out your new air filter is really sucking in hot air all the time.
There is another version the Scangauge 2, this will keep records of 0-60mph times, lap times, braking performance and a few other things, as well as displaying error codes and lettting you reset warning lights etc.
