I diagnosed a dashboard Engine Management alarm to the Brake Pressure sensor on my Punto.
Trouble was, I couldnt find it even after exhausting search on the net
So I visited Salmons and asked them when I purchased the sensor could they tell me the location so I could change it myself
What followed was Customer Care at its very worst given to me on the Service Desk by a circa 20 year old girl
(a)Yes, they would sell me the part BUT only if their workshop fitted it !!
(b)This was a specialist job and not suitable for the DIY mechanics
(c)I asked to speak to a mechanic, this was refused as their engineers hadn`t the time to deal with the general public
(d)After a heated debate I asked the girl for a straight answer to this question
" Are you going to tell me where this sensor is located"
reply: its not necessary as we will be doing the work
(e) So you know where its located then
reply :- of course
(f) For the final time "are you going to tell me where its located and please no more waffle"
reply :- No
(g) finally I asked " so all parts bought from this Dealership must be fitted by your workshop"
Reply:- dont be ridiculous
(h) But you are contradicting yourself here !!
I thanked her for her belligerent attitude and pointed out when it came to changing 3 Fiat`s we have in the family, we will be going to Desira at Bury
I will never set foot in the place again - I advise anyone to steer clear
