Please excuse me for asking help on a problem that has been already discussed but I didnt found the other threads helpfull.

I own a rusty LHD X1/9 and I found one RHD in very good condition which I want to buy. I want to know if the LHD parts will directly bolt on on the RHD chassis or it would be needed a lot of cutting and welding.
Thank you in advance for your help.

The big headache is the dashboard - I've never seen a LHD car stripped down but having looked at the dashboard in my cars I would suggest that you would need to transfer pretty much the entire thing (including the metal work underneath) into your new car down to and including all the pedal mountings. The second big headache is the wiring - the fusboard is on opposite sides, (as are the master cylinders obviously) so you will likely have to transfer all of that wiring too.

Everything else should be a straight forward nut and bolt swap.

If the RHD is that good try to sell it in UK or Ireland then buy LHD, just a thought! we have plenty of rusty RHD ones!!!!!!(y)
