I am removing the cylinder head. Have done all the obvious but though there is some lift by hand at the front it wont come off. so I must have forgotten something! I have the head bolts off and the reaction link and bracket and the two side bolts off. I haven't (yet) removed the alloy air intake as I thought it might come off with the head and the nuts are not easy to get at. I also haven't (yet) disconnected the pipes to the injectors. If someone has done the job recently perhaps they could suggest what I must do to free the head

I now have it off. All you need to do after removing the 10 cylinder head bolts is to just undo one bolt holding a cable tidy bracket and the Dayco B460 1.9 Diesel 8V Carbon Canister, and the high pressure pump connector for the single rail. These are at top left and bottom right in the attached pic. That means if you must dismantle further you can do it off the engine block.
