Hello

Just replacing the rear pad on my 2003 2.8JTD 18 Maxi Bus, and noticed one of the caliper piston boots has a hole in it.

Does anyone have a part number for just a boot? All I can find is complete seal kits for about £30!! Don't need all that!

Many thanks!

You're a star - thank you.

Unfortunately, after spending a day extracting one very ruster slider from a caliper, I've decided to replace the complete unit.

I'll be in an old people's home before I rebuild it otherwise

Get a small drill bit on your cordless drill wrap with wire wool and work it in and out of the bore it will be as good as new. Find a bolt that fits the slide put it end in drill chuck wrap with 400 grit sand paper in left hand while operating drill with right. with decent grease it should last the life of the vehicle.

Great advice, which normally I would take, however I have two rear axles on the bus, another three calipers to bu99er about with and retest due by this evening, otherwise I would have rebuilt.

Fair enough, good luck, did you get a wing? Scrappie is the way to go.

Think you might have me mixed up with someone else. Don't need a wing, but could do with an airbag module! ;)
