Technical Ran out of Petrol- what happen

Hi,
I driving a 1.4T-JET (petrol) Bravo. I was trying to reach my regular petrol station before the petrol ran out, when the car coughed and died on me.



After getting petrol in. I realise that the Turbo does not "kick" in. Although there is no error code, and I can hear the Turbo. but there is just no transfer of that turbo to the engine when I running it.


I asked one workshop and they just told me to "Run In", the turbo will be back.


I seeking 2nd opinions and advise.

how many times have you driven it since? it may need 3 drive cycles to reset :idea:

Define Drive Cycle? I definitely have driven 3-4 trips. But still on first tank...

drive cycle is from cold to hot and back again = 1 drive cycle
