Technical Radio volume!

Right I have a 57 GP 1.2 and I have my iPod connected in the glove box by a USB socket, and when I turn the ignition on it automatically fires up the media player and starts playing my iPod, but every time the volume is set at 12 and its quite loud, is there anyway of setting the radio so it starts off a bit lower, I have tried turning the volume down on y iPod but made no difference

It drove me crazy too. There really should be a way to set the default media player volume. The only way I managed to do it is by taking the head unit out, and sticking 16k ohms worth of resistors between the media input and the head unit.

Press menu on your radio, press up and down on the D-pad until you find external audio value. Try setting this to a lower volume

One thing worth noting- there's still a considerable 'gain' on the External Audio value (ie, a setting of "12" in this menu is more like "24" on the overall unit volume), so it's best to start low and keep trying it out until you find the ideal sweet spot.

Thank you! Will try it when i finish work, i jump a mile when i forget to turn it down as i switch the ignition on haha
