Technical punto sporting mk1 thermostat location/removal

hi there everybody.
i need some help with the above mentioned as believe our overheating problem is connected.
i know where the thermostat is located on engine and have disconnected both pipes to it so far.there was one large bolt at bottom of unit that i have undone but have read that there is another?the only one i can see is a large nut with a sensor attached to it and a nut holding a wire on it.i have udone the nut and wire but am dubious about the nut with sensor? the bolt left attached to thermostat is laying inside a metal sleeve which is attched further down on engine.
now the large bolt is undone how do i proceed to remove the the unit?

Hi I have now got a problem with my heating and have been advised to get a new thermostat but i am not sure where it is located on the car could you possebly tell me where it is. thanks
