Hi, my selecta auto box drives fine, but when given full throttle it goes to 4k rpm as it should but there is no speed increase, as if the clutch is slipping. Easing off a bit at 3/4 throttle drops the revs to around 3k and everything is good again.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Is the Selecta a Continuosly Variable Transmission? If so, then it could be the drive belt slipping, the electromagnetic clutch weakening or a fault in the electronic transmission control unit. All of which, I am afraid are likely to be expensive to put right.

Thanks for the replies. I'm trying to eliminate cheap causes first.

Could it be fluid related? Kickdown cable?

Are you referring to thew actual clutch or just the brushes? I think only the brushes are covered.
