General punto mk1 problem when cold!

hi,fiat punto mk1 1997,ive got a problem when i use car first thing in the morning,when i put my foot down it jerks sometimes misfire like fireing on 2 or 3,after when i try it,it drives well,only happens when i take it for first drive,could it be the coil breaking down,hope somebody can point me in the right direction,thanks in advance.

Could be coil, not unknown.

yup, lambda doesn't work during warm up so won't see the unburnt fuel.

Start engine with bonnet open, remove and refit each spark plug one at a time. When you find the two that ake no difference to the engine running, you've found the iffy coil.

ps Insulated pliers unless you like dancing around.

thanks for your help,i will buy coil,engine tick over is ok,so could not do that test,its only when im driving i've got the problem, strange it only happens when i take the car out after being idle overnight.
