Technical punto mk1 and 2...

right..im told the punto mk1 and mk2 1.2 60bhp(8v) engines are the same...am i right? then if so...does this mean that the cam shafts are the same? and does it mean that the outlet manifolds are the same size..same fixings?? let me know please..i got the mk2 active sport..

I think mk1 is SPI and mk2 is MPI

Dont know if that means the camshafts and etc are the same or not though.

If yours is after 2001 (Y-reg) then it'll have a phonic wheel on the camshaft and a phase sensor which the mk1 engine won't.
