Can a leak in this cause the engine to cough on idle?

Cheers

Re: Wanted - plastic pipe from airbox to turbo

Hmm. I had to pay the dealer £72 for them to diagnose the idle cough as this leaking pipe. I've taped it up as a temp fix and it's still coughing. I guess you're right that it's not the cause. Don't want to be ripped off for another hours investigation. :(

Coughing on idle

Anyone experienced a slight misfire on idle? Coughs every few seconds but nothing noticed when accelerating.
Apparently coils and plugs are ok. No fault codes found when on diagnosis machine.
Dealer says it's a leak in the plastic pipe from the airbox to the turbo, but I've sealed that up and it still coughs.

Ideas?

Sorry it's a 1.4 turbo T-jet in an Abarth SS
