Hi All,

Just a quick one as its not much of a problem.

When i fill up at the local morrisons the pump keeps stopping like the tank is full.

Like every few seconds it will stop unless i fill it up slowly.

Anyone had this before - is it a problem at my end or theirs?

Thanks,

Sam

I had the same problem on my Punto 188 and Grande Punto 199 , 1.3MTJ , problem is that you put complete pipe into the resevoir hole, solution is to take out the petrol pipe so only little part of petrol pipe can be inside.
I think that FIAT put too little re-fueling pipe and when you put petrol pipe the false air is making the problem

Shomikus is correct. When the fuel starts to come up the fill pipe, is pushes air in front of it. If the fill pipe is narrow, the air cannot escape properly and triggers the cut-out sensor in the fuel nozzle. Diesels are worse because you get loads of frothy fuel and you have to keep waiting for it to subside before squirting a bit more fuel in... Pulling the nozzle out a bit and waiting for the bubbles to disappear will solve the problem. If it still does it, your full! :D
