Usually go on and on in my posts but I'll try and keep thisshort and concise.
Little while ago my dash board started intermittentlythrowing up an error saying "Bulb Failure... Rear Indicator >... StopLamp", basically telling the driver side rear indicator bulb was failing. To re-inforce this, every time i indicated right it clicked a lot faster thanusual, about 3 times the rate.
So as any normal person would do, I went out, bought areplacement bulb, fit it in and tried again, assuming problem would have goneaway.
No change, exact same error.
So after doing a bit of research on here, i found thatsometimes the circuit boards and other metal in the rear lights cluster startsto rust and messes with the electrics. So I took it all apart, found no rust, but still cleaned everything properly with some contact cleaner and re-fittedit all.
No change, exact same error.
So I was considering taking it to a garage as this has beengoing on for months now, that stupid beeping sound occurs literally about 5times every minute as I'm driving, makes me want to drive the thing over acliff.
Anyway, I leave it alone for a couple of weeks and justlearn to live with the sound to some extent, when one day I'm driving alonghear that blasted sound, look down at the dash and see the same error message, except now it reads "... < Rear Indicator >..." implying bothof the rear indicators were now playing up. I checked the left indicator, andthat too now had the faster click rate, but the right indicator was back to thenormal clicking rate.
Basically, as things stand now the error comes up, onaverage every 20 seconds and intermittently switches between left, right orboth rear indicators. It happens when the car is both stationary or moving, soon as electrics come on it beeps. The annoying thing, is that the system won't just beep once to alert me that there's a problem and leave the error light on my dash dash, it repeatedly goes off as though it's registering the error, then forgetting it, then registering it again, as though there's some loose contact that's trigering it at intervals.
I've uploaded a video to show you exactly what's going on.Couldn't quite get the right indicator to click faster in the vid but it doeshappen all the time. Apologies for the low fuel warning, thats not related tothis at all.
