Went for first drive today of any distance, only a about 5 miles and noticed towards the end car was getting very sluggish and then temp light came on. Managed to get home, there was water in the radiator, maybe a slight bit low but nothing to worry about but it had overheated.
I flushed radiator that was OK belts were OK. I noticed Cooling vent was jammed open by the linkage. Removed and checked the thermostat valve bottom of radiator and it wasn't working but this shouldn't of caused the overheat as vent was jammed open.
Will replace thermostat as apparently its a common failure but anyone any ideas please?
