Hello, new to forum. I am interested in purchasing a vintage 500. Came across a car for sale in the upper Midwest but trying to clarify the model. Current owner did not know history prior to 1982. Car is titled as a 1962 and has suicide doors and the shorter canvas roof. However the engine cover says 500 Nuova. According to research the Nuova was discontinued in 1960? Anyway to tell if this a donor engine cover. Also the car has larger 7 inch headlights? Is this anything else that would say this car was an orginal import? Fiat 500 American?
Also could not find much about deciphering a VIN from 1962 online.
Was looking for more information before making an offer.
Thanks

Nuova is a general term applied to early 500s
the Big headlights were US only specification... but only the N as far as I know which ceased in 1960
if you send me a msg with details of the chassis plate ad engine bymber I can tell you more

I have N's including a US spec
