Technical OIL Question?

i got a question .. does the oil light come on when the engine is full of oil or only when there is not enough oil ? thanks

Comes on from low pressure, so either when it's too low or has a faulty oil pump

The light only comes on when the oil level is low. If its on get then it needs oil.

If the oil level is checked every 7 days and kept topped up there is no need to worry about the oil pressure light.

The light comes on when there is not enough oil pressure. Its pretty pointless because most of the time it means the engine is bnggered. Crank and cam bearings will burn out in a few seconds if there is not enough oil.
