General Nurburgring...

Jim, I don't know if this is any good or not, but here goes..

I've found a German company that is the equivalent of Kwik-Fit called Pit-Stop (www.pitstop.de). You can enter your location (click on the link that says "suchen eine Pit-Stop Filiale", then enter a postcode, known as a PLZ in German) to find the nearest branch. Koln/Bonn airport is PLZ 51129. There are 5 branches in Koln so you stand a good chance that one of them will have a Panda exhaust on the shelf. The bad news is, none of them are open on Sunday but they open at 0800 Monday morning.

You might also be interested to learn that the German word for exhaust is "auspuff" ;) .

Hope this helps!

Cheers,

Garry

Hi Jim!

Hope you will manage to repair Sylvia fast. In case you'll decide to go to Poland - weather report. Monday - hot, about 30 degC in the whole country, storms possible in the afternoon in western part. Tuesday - hot with possible storms in the eastern part, colder (about 20 degC) in the western part. Wednesday - about 20 degC in the whole country, front with storms should go to Belarus and Ukraine. Thursday, Friday and Saturday - 20-25 degC, rather sunny with rain possible.

Regards
Sutjeska

Auspuff !

Hi together !

12:03 our Presdent 'Whitebuffalo' started the following alarm-call:

===> ALARM!!! Jim aus Ireland bentigt dringend Hilfe <===

It's a pitty we could not organize Sylvias direct-rescue in reasonable time ...

We did a lot of communcation behind the 'curtain' ....

I just arrive at home (i had been on the road heading to Berlin).

That's what the situation looks like:

None of the members quoted to have the correct exhaust-box.

None of the 677 garages in Cologne would have exchanged the exhaust today.

Begining with tuesday morning it will be no problem.

We (i) will do the telefon calls to check where the next possible exhaust

for Sylvia is available.

In order to do this without failure i need the data (details) of Sylvia.

Please send via PM or Email.

I will stay in direct contact with Jim.

Sylvia will reach at home alive !(y)

Regards alltogether Tom

@ Steven: I started the thread 'Auspuff' by fault. It can bee deleted

Oh, i think your trying to 'sell' me the idea of going to poland, lol! We'll see how we get on with a pitstop on tuesday but if it dosen't go well i'll tell you what my other plan is...
If you ask me nicely i'll tell you where i hid the keys to Sylvia in cologne and you can have a free panda, hehe!

Steve - info requested by Tom ( can you pass on and maybe delete this post)

Edited by Steven.

This s getting to be a habit, drive somewhere interesting, meet nice people, then ask them to fix our car !!!:)

Hi together !

As far as i found out, i am looking now

for the original-part-number reference: 7708655

Is there anyone who diagrees ?

Tom

.
Hi togehter !

@ Alan thanks for looking within the model options !

No. 7708655 => the exhaust with the round shape

No. 7588263 => the exhaust with the oval shape

To me it looks that it has been the oval shaped exhaust see:

https://www.fiatforum.com/panda-classic/89060-nurburgring-7.html?p=1126374

Which one must be ordered now ?

I ask because perhaps it already has been the wrong exhaust,

thus raising the actual problem.

@ Jim good luck - seal your trousers :)

Regards Tom
