Hi, my fiat Ducato x244, 2.8 jtd , doesn't give more than 4000 rpm when you push the accelerator to the top.
Anybody that has the same engine can tell me if it's normal or maybe the turbo is faulting??

Maximum power is at 3600 rpm, so why go higher?

From eLearn for x244 2.8jtd.

"Maximum speed limit control

The engine control unit intervenes in two ways to limit maximum speed on the basis of rpm:
  • as maximum speed approaches (4200 rpm), the amount of fuel injected falls and line pressure is reduced;
  • injector operation is inhibited at speeds over 5000 rpm."

Thanks a lot for the information.
I see it's a normal thing , so.
