Hi,
I have not really had any probs with my R-reg cinquecento, and with only 35000 miles I didn't really expect too many either.
However, recently I started finding oil in the water and water in the oil. So I had the head gasket changed at a FIAT dealership for around £150. They also pressure tested the cylinder head (which was in perfect order) so we were sure the problem was now sorted.
But, I have now had the car back for a week and I noticed the coolant water is slowly emptying (but again with no visible leaks). There is no visible oil in the water and also no water in the oil from what I can see.
The engine appears to run fine as long as I keep topping up the water.
I have seen that there are a few people on these forums who have alot of knowledge when it comes to the cinquecento, so if you could help it would be greatly appreciated.
Does anyone know what the problem is likely to be? Can you suggest any ways of fixing it (perhaps using coolant system sealant?).
Cheers, Stevie.
