Hello Fiat folk. I'm a desperate man in need of advice regarding a stranded Ducato moho. Suicide seems the best option at the moment as this problem is causing me so much trouble it makes me wonder if life is worth living. I live in the motorhome and it is no crank, no start. Comfortmatic gearbox 2008 3.0 ltr. I can't ask for advice in the tech boards until I've made 5 posts so this is the 1st of 5. I'm in N. Yorks at the moment. 😊

I am sure if you give enough detail, such as, is there any warning lights, is battery fully charged, does it click when you work the key, have you checked all the leads and earth wires are good etc. etc. there will be someone here to advise.:)

So I've changed the earth lead from the battery and the one behind the air filer the usual suspect. Water and we've had an immense amount of rain for the past 6 months got into fuse box so I've cleaned out the channels and put in hoses where there were just holes. I've changed the fuse box and the brown multiplug underneath that had shorted out.. I did have no Neutral symbol on the dash cluster but I've got this back using ecumultiscan. There's no communication from the gearbox module which I understand is somewhere in the passenger compartment. There are two sensors on the gearbox. One of these is the speed sensor but which is which is hard to tell. I think I will have to remove the air cleaner housing to get to the other but I can't find any info on removing the housing itself either. All lights are present on the dash cluster but when the key is turned to the start position there is nothing. Not even a click. The vehicle was running fine without any problems until last October when I took it for its MOT. All the lights were working before I set off but it failed the test coz the right hand side side lights were suddenly not working. I had to return to the campsite with no test certificate and things went downhill from there. The sidelights are still out but for now I'm concentrating on getting the engine running. At first it turned over without firing but now it won't even do that. The batteries have good charge as I'm permanently on electric hook up and the system is in split charge which keeps the service battery and the 2 auxiliary batteries topped up. So I don't think its a power issue. I suspect that it's one of the modules or one of the sensors but that is 4 options. I can't narrow it down any further

I've not used ecumultiscan before so I'm still learning but I think it should show the gearbox up where other modules are. So there's the airbag, the body and the dashboard but no gearbox. I think that the module listed as body is the one behind the fusebox in the engine compartment

The picture not showing a screen shows the two sensors on the gearbox, one of which has a white band around the cable. I've managed to pull this off and squirted to contacts with contact spray. The other is inaccessible without removing the air filter housing which I can't find out how to remove. I've had the filter out many times but the housing itself won't come out

There is a specific MultiECUScan section on Forum with members better able to advise you on that area and also on the Duologic side.
My concern is that the water damage to the fusebox etc.may be much more extensive then first apparent and especially with a vehicle standing for long lengths of time it will have had no opportunity top dry out, so corrosion of electrical connections and components will be much worse.
Re "contact spray" things like WD40 are great for dispersing water but for electrical connections and components you may find a specific electrical cleaner like PMA does the job better and leaves no residue.:)

Thanks Mike, as I'm a new member at the moment I'm not allowed to post to the tech threads until I've posted 5 times !
