Technical Mk1 trailing arm bushes

I need to replace mine and bought two of these to do the job.

Does anyone know how they fit?

So far I've guess that the steel tube goes inside the plastic tube, the bolt goes through that and the single washer goes under the nut. Likewise I worked out that the two steel rings fit inside the rubber rings.

Two things confuse the though. The bearings which are flared; do they go on with the flare facing outwards or inwards? My guess is that this matters.

Also are the two steel rings (that the rubber rings fit onto); are they meant to fit onto the steel tube? Are they supposed to be smashed on with a mallet because there's no way the ones supplied will even remotely fit over.

Thoughts from anyone whose been here before are much appreciated.
