Technical marea weekend jtd.turbo blades /fins all bent&burred up whats the cause.

hi i took the turbo off my marea 2.4 jtd today and the fins/blades are all bent and burred up and the bearings have gone what could be the cause.where could i get a new/used one from?how much?is there any other cars with the same one?

somthing getting in of imbalance and distroy it self.

i have 2.4 none jtd ie 2.4 td
dont know if it will fit but will check on parts book tomorrow

That could have gone worse Matt losing the turbo is less agro than running the main bearings.Usually the turbo bearings go because of carbonised oil they do run hot. Not sure where it is on the forum but there is a recomended re-builder who seems reasonably priced. like £200, the car has to have it of course.

2.4 TD is listed as 46460750 for the turbo
2.4 JTD is listed as 46550485

Worn bearings I would think are caused by poor oil circulation. Check quality of oil, filter and potentially oilpump.

Hi the part no is 46460750.I changed the oil and filter and 5 minutes later driving down the road it went, could there be something wrong with the oil or filter.what oil should it be.
