Technical Light Sensor not working?

Hi guys, on my Stilo JTD i have automatic lights. However, it only ever turns on side lights and dipped beams at the same time. Before i got my windscreen changed im pretty sure that sidelights would come on and then when it gets darker dipped beams also come on. Could someone please clarify?
Also, i think i might have automatic wipers but could someone tell me how they are supposed to work, because on the first setting, it acts very strange (always changing speed etc.).

I found that the conditions for the side lights to turn on first are very rare. If it does actually turn on the dipped beam, you should be fine, as the sensor either works or it doesn't. Try adjusting its sensitivity.
