Hello all

New to Fiats and the forum.

My 41k lovely Marea seems to be getting a bit hot under the collar. During my 1hr heavy traffic commute (about 70% stop-start traffic) the temp needle goes beyond the halfway mark and to the next pointer/marker (still a goodish distance from red). The fan then kicks in and it returns back to halfway. This happens about 4/5 times in my 1hr commute only in the traffic which is most of the time. If I go on a run it cools down.

I can't see any leaks the interior fan's ok, blows hot & cold. The coolant doesn't go down it just gets a bit hot.

What do you geniuses reckon - are your Mareas hot stuff?

Hey!, I have on loan to try a Marea 1.6 SX and noticed the same problem, was sitting in my driving fiddling with the radio when I noticed the fan kicking on and off and the temp needle raised 2/4 past the middle....was a bit worried, seems ok though so maybe it's normal

Hi.

I have a 1,6 16V Marea, it's normal that the 1,6 runs hot enough to activate the fan in heavy traffic.
The engine cools off very fast when you speed up or the fan turns on.
So don't worry, just be sure your fan + thermoswitch works :)
