General I need a mechanic for 1967 Fiat 500 near Albany NY

I need a mechanic for 1967 Fiat 500 Autobianchi Bianchini Berlina. I need to fine tune the timing and carb. I had to set the timing to 23 degrees BTDC to run the best. It bogs down when it gets to a high idle so I have to shift quicker. More important it is overheating when climbing a hill and exhaust coming in when heat is used. It also makes a loud bass type sound when pushing it and I wonder if that is normal. Any help would be appreciated and an experienced mechanic near Albany NY

Many older aircooled cars used an exhaust heat exchanger to warm the inside of the car, however as they age they can allow exhaust inside the car which is obviously a killer. Coupled with the sound you mention I would disconnect the heater from the occupants until resolved.
VW Beetles, Citroen 2CVs, GS 1220 Clubs etc. all suffered. I believe in the past there were some strange car crashes where drivers fell asleep related to this so be aware!!!
