Hi all! I'm a bit new to this so here goes!
Basically my water pump failed on the motorway and lack of coolant caused my head gasket to blow! So after I had it towed home, I set about striping the engine for a huge rebuild!... Head skimmed, new head gasket, new water pump, new thermostat, new timing belt and all new filters etc...
...Now with all the parts all cleaned and carefully rebuilt, I set about the final task of setting the timing for the new timing belt! (original position accidentally lost during rebuild!) any how I have an elearn disc for the stilo and after finding and printing out the step by step instructions for setting the timing, I followed them to the letter! aligning the driver cog with the rpm sensor, locking the cams in position with an "appropriate" tool replacement and checking that both numbers 1 and 2 pistons are aligned mid point with 1 on the down stroke! All was going like clockwork! belt on as described (anti clockwise from bottom etc) The whole process was done to the letter and was as such easy to do!..... until I tried to start the engine!! ..... NOTHING! not even firing! so I tried moving driver cog 360 degrees (as another thread on here states that the driver turns twice for every one of the driven) STILL NOTHING!!! I have checked sparks on the plugs and all good! I also checked that there was fuel in the injection system! I have checked the fuel cut off switch and I have a half tank of fuel and all electrical connections seem fine!
So Please can someone help!!!! what have I missed???:bang:
