Auto headlights:
With lights OFF, ignition key at position 2, battery light on, no other - press button on left hand stalk for more than 2 seconds. There will be a "bong" confirming the operation.
The auto window opening routine:
press unlock and keep it pressed for 8 seconds.
Heater blower removal:
Well on UK versions I just remove glove box & the fuse box cover behind that, this lets you see things a bit better. Under the dash I think there is a metal bracket with a round wire block connector you have to remove. The heater motor has 3 x 6mm or 7mm screws that hold it in.
If it has 2 motors it has a motor each end of dash.
How to remove Ulysse steering wheel airbag:
the torx size is T45
1 Disconnect battery and WAIT ONE HOUR to discharge air bag from any static current or electricity.
2 Underside of steering wheel there is some cut outs place small slotted screw driver to release clips or similar tool, horn section of steering wheel should now release.
3 Air bag is held by three torx bolt undo these very carefully, remove air bag and places inside plastic bag and place somewhere safe. On the 2004 Ulysse I have found that the airbag is fitted by two prongs on the rear of the steering wheel which you need to use a slotted screwdriver to push to one side to release the steering wheel airbag.
4 Make sure wheels are aligned in a straight line or steering wheel is in correct position, undo centre bolt 24mm socket I think and remove steering wheel.
Pollution Error:
The pollution error will come on when the vehicle is cleaning the F.A.P. filter. It is a complex system but when this filter becomes blocked then the vehicle needs to heat to burn off the particles that are in the anti-particulate-filter. When this happens the warning light comes on the dash. This might not always be the problem but be aware of it...
Headlight issues:
You will probably need a new light stalk switch ( switch you turn the lights on with) ours plays up with the lights turning on and off when the switch is off, but if you turn the lights on at the switch they stay on. EBay do new light stalks, the part is called, Com 2000 and fits the Ulysse, Citroen c8, Peugeot 807. You will have to remove steering wheel to fit. Boot will not open
Symptoms: Person driving forgot the "Ulysee Rule" to NEVER use the rear screen wash & boot will not open. Car says "boot is open" and will not lock door. His fix: Climb in. Remove cladding from boot (4 screws); Notice rear washer hose is disconnected from wiper (i.e. at the back, not over the ECU as normal). Fix it. Open boot as per manual (and another thread on this forum) Soak up the water (lots of it) Hairdryer on the electrics (behind the rear number plate) for 15 minutes Wait.... Disconnect battery for 10 mins Reconnect. Ignore anti-theft failure warnings. Start car. Stop car. Problem fixed.

Fiat Ulysse Glow Plug Replacement
changed a set of glow plugs in a 54 2.0 hdi ullysse
part 1 under bonnet
cold engine, remove pollen filter housing, remove throttle inlet body 3 hex’s swing out the way. remove bolt that holds dipstick tube next to egr pipe that goes into side of inlet manifold, bend dipstick tube slightly out the way, remove egr tube flange 2 hex’s in side of inlet manifold , (dipstick tube in way of the lower bolt.) follow this tube towards rear of engine and undo bolt that secures this tube to a small bracket. all this above will make sense in a minute,
part 2 under vehicle
Remove entire exhaust from turbo to silencer. remove lower engine stabiliser. swing engine forward and wedge with a small block of wood, remove plastic turbo outlet pipe from turbo, one bolt and a jubilee clip, bolt higher up holding this as well so remove and wedge pipe out the way. remove egr unit from exhaust manifold ,2 nuts, also held by nut on manifold stud. remove this nut on stud and bend tab that attaches this egr to manifold stud. push egr body with tube upwards clearing the way to gain access to plugs. impossible without part 1. i cable tied it from under the bonnet to stop it dropping in the way.
from now onwards access to plugs are ok but lots of aching wrists, scratching of arms , you may need to bend the heat shield attached to steering rack to stop scratchin and slicing bits of skin off your hands. also remove the exhaust sealing ring on turbo as this is compressed wire and bits of this wire sticks out and pricks you.
took me 6 hours. not a diy job if not used to working on cars auto data repair times state 4 hours.
don’t forget to replace all parts in the reverse order
mk2 jtd I think if you open the bonnet and remove the air intake for heater/air con (four clips/two half turn screws) by the brake fluid pot square box bolted to the frame with connections underneath is the relay you’re looking for? it’s the little black box you can see just under and slightly behind the main ECU <https://www.fiatforum.com/autolink.php?id=8&script=showthread&forumid=52> on the passenger side of the car
I greased and oiled, when I purchased this 2nd hand Fiat Ulysse Prestigio JTD 16V 2.2, all door runners and hinges, all sunroof runners and worm drives etc, same for boot and bonnet and all catches n latches n cables too. What a difference it made too.
Big hint and tip is to ensure that there is no leak above the fuse box in the engine bay. Major havoc played with electrics otherwise! Easily fixed if there is; study tray that's dripping and you will see that it is two trays one of top of other; squeeze in some silicone after cleaning and drying the surfaces; no more leak!
I had one too for resetting the sunroof buttons and can't find it... if your sunroof(ves) needs repeated pushes of the button to close, they're not broken but simply need the battery removed "reset routine" run. I think it was open all sunrooves; then using individual switches push and hold the close switch for about 5 seconds till the "bong" sound from the dashboard somewhere... fixed. If that's wrong try opening then closing then holding the switch?
